I have always loved New Years day and the idea of a fresh start! On January 1st, 2015 I started a 5-year journal and today I am starting the fourth year. Each night for the past three years, I write a brief summary of my day and I have not missed a single day for the past three years. This is by far my most prized possession and in this little journal holds my fondest memories. I received the journal as a gift my senior year of high school and it will be completely filled when I'm in my first year of grad school. Today, as I begin page 1 out of 365, I see a fresh start and a blank page where I can choose how I want my story to turn out. I love the beginning of a new year because it is filled with hope and ambition! 2017 ended with a huge life changing event for me. I want to turn 2018 into a year of self growth and self love. I have set quite a few goals for myself and I look forward to the chance to fulfill them!
1. Make Dean's List, prepare for the GRE's, and start looking for grad schools I want to apply to
2. Eat healthier, go to the gym and drink more water
3. Work more and save money
4. Volunteer more at the nursing home and the soup kitchen
5. Send more handwritten thank you cards and give thoughtful gifts
6. Explore places in Maine that I've never seen, go somewhere for Spring Break and plan a trip for this summer
7. Improve my skin care routine
8. Read a good book
9. Read the entire Bible
10. Join a ballet class and a yoga class
11. Use my phone less
12. Spend more time with family and friends
13. Learn a new song on the piano
14. Do more blogging collaborations
15. Practice speaking french again
My biggest goal is to do everything I do with passion because through our passions we can find true happiness. This year I won't make excuses for other people's actions. I am going to take 2018 day by day and trust the universe that where I am going is where I am meant to be. I want to try new things and allow myself to be the best version of myself. This list of 2018 goals are here to hold myself accountable and to maybe inspire you to make your own 2018 goals! May this year be the best one yet. Happy New Year!
Xoxo, Liv
